Beatriz Alcaná

Beatriz Alcaná is a Salamanca-based author who’s passionate about the humanities. Her first novella, Spolia, took second prize in the Alberto Magno Contest in 2022, the same year she won the Marta Portal Novella Award for Echidna. In 2023, she won the City of Salamanca Award for her acclaimed Gothic novel Teseo en llamas [Theseus Burning] (Ediciones del Viento, Kelvin Award 2024), and this year she received the 18th Encina de Plata Award for Un círculo completo [Full Circle]. She also writes for the youth literature magazine La Avenida de los Libros and is a member of CYLCON (Castilla y León Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror Association).
