HOW TO BECOME A BOOKTOKER OR BOOKSTAGRAMMER: RUESCAS AND BRUNE’S SECRETS
We’d been wanting to have an event like this one at the 42 Festival for quite some time: a session led by two popular online content creators and fantastic genre fans in which they could share some of their secrets to recommending books on social media. How does one go about reviewing books (good or bad) on TikTok, YouTube or Instagram? How should the videos be recorded? What should be highlighted? What’s the best way of communicating? What are the technical mistakes to avoid? Is it better to be transparent or to create a character? And if we’re talking about science fiction, fantasy, horror or YA books, are there any additional factors to keep in mind? Led by Javier Ruescas and Raquel Brune, two genre authors with hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, participants in the keynote event of Social Media Night will come away with the perfect answers to all these questions. The event will also be an opportunity to get to know better the authors of Electro and Nigromantes [Necromancers], as well as some of the secrets of how they found success talking about books.
