Jay Kristoff, the Australian king of young-adult fantasy, has now decided to try his luck with science fiction. The kilometre-long queues for his signing sessions are unquestionable prove his point. Known especially for sagas such as The Lotus War, The Illuminae Files and The Nevernight Chronicle, his books connect with his young-adult audience through reflections about family, friendship, love, loss and betrayal. In conversation with Sofía Guerrero (better kown on social media as Vampisaurus), and based on his latest book,  LIFEL1K3 (Umbriel), about robots, rubbish and criminal gangs, Kristoff will be reflecting on his career and on how he perceives non-realist genres.
