MARIANA ENRÍQUEZ: HORROR, YES, AND SOME OF THE BEST
Mariana Enríquez,, one of the outstanding voices in today's Argentine narrative scene, creates horror. And more specifically, good horror, some of the best, as can only be created in a genre such as this. She does other things, of course, and uses parameters from within and outside the genre, in order to obtain the best possible results. She has always been welcome at Festival 42, and in this third edition, we have laid out the red carpet. And for good reason, thanks to books such as the immense Nuestra parte de noche (Anagrama) or the captivating volume of short stories Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego (Anagrama), Enríquez enjoys the international recognition of critics and public and she has won prizes such as the Herralde, the Celsius and the Kelvin 505. Translated into over 24 languages, the author comes to the Festival to take a look back at her literary career, as well as sharing with the audience her vision of today's horror scene, in literature and beyond. In this case, she will be accompanied by a specialist in the genre, the Mallorcan critic Nadal Suau, who knows her work well.
