The work of the writer, activist, sociologist and humanist Malka Older is permeated by problems that define her work and her concerns, like political and social changes, natural disasters, large-scale migrations and questions of identity and gender. Known internationally for her speculative science fiction stories, Older is also interested in cozy mysteries and adventure stories aimed at younger audiences, as demonstrated in her latest novel, La imitación de éxitos ya conocidos, recently published by Crononauta. With fellow science fiction writer Isa J. González, who is well acquainted with the different works Older has published so far, we will delve into the universe of this emerging author and discover her influences and motivations when writing.
