KING KONG IN THE LIBRARY. FROM THE SITGES FESTIVAL TO 42
Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, the Mummy... Literary characters which have spread through popular culture thanks to their popular fame in films. There's always been a close connection between film and literature, but it goes further than the adaptation of novels and the novelisation of films. These are narrative arts that share resources, yet at the same time have marked differences. The genre expert Sergi Viciana and the director of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia have curated King Kong a la biblioteca. From the Sitges Festival to the 42, an exhibition enabling us to discover how fantasy film has drawn from literary sources. The essayist and speaker Juanma Santiago will be joining them in a round table to discuss fantastic stories on and off the screen. There is a guided tour of the exhibition for anybody interested after the round table.
*Activity organised in conjunction with the Sitges-Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya
