HUMOUR, IMAGINATION AND WINKS: WHAT EXACTLY IS AND IS NOT LAURA FERNÁNDEZ?
Having won the Finestres Award for Narrative, along with other awards like El Ojo Crítico, Las Librerías Recomiendan and Kelvin 505 and a special mention in the City of Barcelona awards, the novel La señora Potter no es exactamente Santa Claus (Literatura Random House) has catapulted the career of the Terrassa-born journalist and storyteller Laura Fernández and turned her into one of the leading writers on the national literary scene. Fernández is now publishing her first short story collection, Damas, caballeros y planetas (Literatura Random House), a series of stories set in extremely absurd corners of the universe. These miniature novels are a sampling of the exuberant universe that Fernández has been creating and expanding over the course of 15 years, which she will reflect on in a conversation with Daniel Pérez, a bookseller, influencer and member of the Festival 42 awards jury.
