In recent years, podcasts of fantastical genres, incredibly and notably in Catalan, have been invading the airwaves. The minimal technical requirements needed to record podcasts have made them an option available to everyone, and because the media has become so popular, a wide variety of podcasts with all sorts of approaches have been cropping up. This roundtable brings together representatives from some of the most famous programmes on fantastical literature and science fiction. There, accompanied by many of their colleagues, will be: Carla Plumed, co-host of Furia en la librería, a project that is recorded live at the Gigamesh bookshop; Álvaro Aparicio from Vuelo del cometa, a podcast featuring opinion, debate and reflection on literary and narrative theory; Javier Fernández Mata, co-director and host of Narranación (a programme that is also broadcast on Ràdio Igualada and Ràdio Vilanova del Camí); Miquel Codony, co-director of El Biblionauta’s monthly podcast Esperant el cometa and one of the promoters of the podcast Neo Nostromo and the video-podcast The Spoiler Club; and Iker Mons, producer and host of the Radio Sabadell programme Quimèric on creations in the fantasy genre. Susana Vallejo, writer and host of Vicio y subcultura, which is now named Otros mundos, will be in charge of moderating this debate which in the shadows, in the future, may have other names which range from the Catalan La Mata d’Heura to the popular Todopoderosos.
