Elsa Velasco

Elsa Velasco (Barcelona, 1993) is an illustrator specialising primarily in fantasy and science fiction. Even though she trained as a journalist, focusing mainly on the world of science, Velasco decided to devote herself professionally to illustration. She began to publish her works in the mass media, such as La Vanguardia. Her clearly defined and identifiable style is inspired by nature’s shapes and vibrant colours, which are used to tell stories through composition and symbolism. She has worked for leading genre publishers, such as Penguin Random House and Chronos (where she recently illustrated the works of fantasy and sci-fi author Adrian Tchaikovsky), as well as for the popular science magazine Principia.
