[CANCELLED] THE TRANSGRESSIVE SECRETS OF MIQUEL DE PALOL, FROM THE SEVEN TWILIGHTS TO BOÖTES
CANCELLED ACTIVITY
Miquel de Palol is one of the great Catalan-language storytellers and one of the main touchstones in the fantasy genres in this language, which he has cultivated since he got his start in literature. Festival 42 continues to showcase the Catalan non-realistic tradition and wants to pay tribute to the author, who will talk with Júlia Ojeda, a journalist and expert on his works. Palol has also recently published Boötes (Navona), the novel that concludes the publication of his Exercises on Point of View, the most important narrative series in his entire oeuvre. Boötes is a monumental allegory on the fate of humanity and a merciless metaphor of the cruelty of power and injustices in our society. It is a work that breaks away from the conventions of the genre precisely to expose the conventions of society. Ojeda will inquire into this rupture of forms and the author’s aim of playing with letters and narrative voices.
