Esport i Dansa Ara fills the Palau Sant Jordi with over 9,000 children in a celebration of education and movement
In all, 9,460 pupils from 248 schools took part in the event, accompanied by 1,001 teachers in a day packed with rhythm and artistic expression.

The Palau Sant Jordi today hosted a new edition Esport i Dansa Ara. Joan Serra, a programme promoting dance and movement as an educational tool.
Educational and participatory show
Children in their second year of primary school showed the work done over the school year through choreographies created by the Companyia Factoria Mascaró. In addition, the Conservatori Professional de Dansa de l’Institut del Teatre offered an artistic display, fostering interaction between the audience and the children.
Part of the City School Sports Plan, this project fosters values such as cooperation, artistic expression and teamwork.
Barcelona City Council and the Barcelona Institute of Sports launched this initiative with the goal of strengthening the role of sport as a tool for education and children’s well-being, consolidating it as a leading project in the promotion of physical activity in schools.
