What ever happened to the Sant Pere revetlla?
29 June is the day of Sant Pere [St Peter]. The eve of Sant Pere used to be celebrated in Barcelona with revetlla parties, coca tarts, bangers and bonfires. Although it was never as deeply established as the Night of Sant Joan, celebrations used to be held in many homes, streets and neighbourhoods. But while the festival is still very much alive in other Catalan towns and cities, it has lost popularity in Barcelona.
Nowadays, there is only two places in Barcelona that holds a Sant Pere revetlla: the Festa Major del Casc Antic and the Farinera del Clot Cultural Centre.
Celebrate it with coca tarts, cava, bangers and much more!
