Recognition of centennial entities linked to the city
In the Plenary Session of the Municipal Council in March, the modification of the Regulation of Honors and Distinctions was approved to recognize entities with a hundred years or more of history and with an accredited link with Barcelona during this time.
Interested entities can submit applications between May 17 and June 17. The basic requirements to participate are having 100 years or more and a demonstrable link with the city.
For this reason, the management, which must be carried out through the electronic headquarters of the City Council, implies registering in the File of Entities and accompanying the process with some accrediting document that verifies the age of the entity (statutes, minutes of incorporation, etc.) and a justification of its trajectory that explains its involvement with the city.
The evaluation of the applications will be carried out in the Municipal Plenary before the end of the year, and the scheduled date to deliver the plaques and diplomas that distinguish them as centennial entities will take place around Santa Eulàlia (February 12).
This new distinction, which will be annual, complements the rest of the medals awarded by the city in recognition of the outstanding work or career of people or entities in the city and is not incompatible with them.
