El 18 de gener del 1984, el Consell Plenari de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona va aprovar l’actual divisió de la ciutat en deu districtes. Aquest fet va suposar la creació del districte de Nou Barris com a districte municipal amb entitat pròpia, i per això aquest 2024 en celebrem els 40 anys d’existència.
