Quan el periodista del New York Times, Sam Anderson, va saber la mort de l’últim mascle de Rinoceront Blanc del Nord, va agafar un vol a Kenya per observar i narrar amb detall la vida diària de les dues últimes representants d’aquesta espècie. La imatge indiferent d’aquests individus davant del destí de la seva espècie va transmetre al reporter una sensació de pau en un moment global d’incertesa.
