The “La Fàbrica” project, residence and studio of Ricardo Bofill, emerges from the encounter between the architect, the remnants of a cement factory in demolition, and his desire to preserve and transform it. The industrial facility was located in the town of Sant Just Desvern and began its production in the early 20th century. The complex came into the hands of the architect in 1970 when he was searching for land on which to build his Architecture Workshop and implement his design processes.
