How to get there

Sant Antoni, one of Barcelona's largest markets, contains three separate marketplaces: one for fresh food, one for clothing and one for books. Built in 1872, Rius i Taulet, the city's mayor at the time, presided over the grand opening in 1882. In 2009, the facilities of the old market were closed and a remodelling project began that would eventually be delayed due to the archaeological remains found at the site. The grand opening of the new market took place in May 2018.

The stalls of Mercat Encants de Sant Antoni were set up around the Sant Antoni market at the beginning of the 20th century and were the heirs of the sellers of textile products in Avinguda del Paral•lel. Currently the stalls of Encants are located along the perimeter of the market, and outdoors on Carrer de Tamarit.
The Mercat Dominical de Sant Antoni is the largest Sunday book, magazine, postcard and video games fair in the world. The fair is housed under awnings around the market.
