How to get there

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Campus Clínic is a large building attached to Hospital Clínic, which was built between 1888 and 1906 in this double city block in the neighbourhood of Eixample. The numerous vicissitudes of history extended its construction for almost three decades. The project had featured three different architects until the arrival of Josep Domènech Estapà, who gave the complex its final shape, as we see it today. The functional spaces of the campus have been profoundly remodelled and constantly adapted to the needs of teaching and research, and some of their most unique places, such as the vestibule, the grand staircase or the large paranymph, designed to host large scientific meetings, have only been partially maintained.
