In this dialogue, which will be moderated by the journalist and writer Albert Lladó, Behrouz Boochani and Marina Garcés will be talking about their latest books, No Friend But the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison (published in Catalan by Raig Verd, 2020) and Un món comú (Tigre de Paper, 2022) respectively. Two complementary visions of a common world: from the condemnation of the injustices committed in the name of the law to the construction of philosophical thought based on commitment.

Behrouz Boochani,is a Kurdish-Iranian writer, journalist, intellectual, cultural manager and film producer, as well as a renowned human rights defender and an honorary member of PEN International. He wrote the book No Friend but the Mountains: Writing from Manus Prison at an immigrant detention centre near Australia, where he spent six years.

Marina Garcés is a philosopher and writer whose thinking focuses on an outward commitment to life as a common problem. She has written several books of essays, and in 2017 she won the Ciutat de Barcelona award, under the essay, social sciences and humanities category, for her work Nova il·lustració radical.
