Ciutat Vella and Barceloneta are the operational centre of the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, will play a special role in these months of cultural, artistic, food and entertainment activities.

La Casa de la Barceloneta 1761 is a municipal facility dedicated to the recovery and dissemination of this neighbourhood’s collective history and memory.

Guided routes ‘Barceloneta and the Sea’

Activity finished

A route connecting the past and the present to discover the origins and evolution of Barcelona’s maritime neighbourhood. During the route, an expert guide will enable us to meet characters that reveal the architecture of the 18th century, the bombardments of the Spanish Civil War, leisure spaces such as public baths and the historical modest eateries known as merenderos, activity at the port, the world of fishing and sport, all linked to the sea.

Open days at the Port of Barcelona

For the first time ever, the Port of Barcelona is organising open days, so that city residents can explore a place that is of vital importance to the city, via guided tours, maritime routes and itineraries on foot

There will also be a seafarers’ market and activities for all types of audiences on Moll de la Fusta quay, along with an America's Cup stand, offering all the information you need to follow the competition and its accompanying programme of cultural and leisure activities.

Exhibition: 'Mar viva'

The “Mar viva” [Living Sea] project aims to raise awareness about the serious problem of marine waste, which is caught in fishing nets and brought back to port so it can be properly classified and disposed of. This is an initiative of the Catalan Waste Agency, in collaboration with the Port of Barcelona Fishermen’s Cooperative and the Barcelona Port Authority.

Traditional habanera concert

The Amics de les Havaneres Association and the Barceloneta Festival Committee are joining the America’s Cup celebrations with a special edition of the traditional habanera concert.

The 38th “Barcelona cara al mar” grand habaneras event will feature performances by groups such as Crema Catalana, Boira, Ultramar and Port Bó, with the collaboration of Coral Mediterrània, the choir of the Mediterrània de la Barceloneta Senior Centre. Gerard Carrión, from Ràdio Estel, will host the event, which will also include traditional mulled rum

Exhibition: 'Port and Photography. Photographic Images of the Port de Barcelona'

Activity finished

The Catalan Photographic Group concluded its 100th anniversary celebrations (1923-2023) with this exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Port of Barcelona and curated by Joan Alemany, an expert on the history of the port.

It consists of forty reproductions of old and modern photographs, taken by professionals and amateurs, that have immortalised the port’s various areas. It also includes the projection of historical images of the Port of Barcelona.
