In coming years, Barcelona will lead the European project for manufacturing microchips and semiconductors, which are essential elements for the development of the technological products that are so useful in our everyday lives.This project consolidates the city as a technology capital, something which encourages large companies to choose Barcelona when establishing new design centres or innovation laboratories.

 In this session, we will analyse the opportunities that this project may provide for Barcelona's economic development, such as fostering a new IT industry in the city and the knowledge economy, as well as its impact on Barcelona's various productive sectors and on attracting talent.
