One of Barcelona's most important characteristics is its location on the Mediterranean coast. The sea and all the activities that take place around it have great potential and the city needs to know how to make the most of this fact, while always respecting marine ecosystems and planning a sustainable social and economic development.

 The aim of this session is to learn about Barcelona's commitment to promoting the blue economy, so that it can become a vector for creating employment, furthering the city's economic and social development and structuring its seashore, fostering activities that focus on innovation, sustainability and technology. We will look at the various projects already under way, the future challenges and opportunities, and we will discover how Barcelona is positioned internationally in the development of this new strategic sector.
