The various features that make Barcelona an attractive destination for talent, economic activity and visitors have given it a deservedly important position on many of the major city rankings, highlighting it as an innovative, cultural, sustainable, open and global city.
This session will present the 20th edition of the Barcelona Observatory, a joint project between Barcelona City Council and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, for the purpose of analysing Barcelona’s international positioning in comparison to other major European and world cities, using over 30 indicators concerning key aspects of urban competitiveness. Furthermore, coinciding with the Observatory’s 20th anniversary, the evolution of Barcelona’s international positioning will be evaluated in various areas and there will be an analysis of the city's future opportunities and challenges in regard to attracting talent and business, as well as its transition towards a competitive, sustainable and inclusive model embodied in the Barcelona Green Deal economic agenda.
