Bus H20
The city’s seafront is characterised by one of the lowest levels of public transport accessibility in the city, especially in the eastern area and in La Marina neighbourhoods. This lack of accessibility is mainly due to the fact that the railway network is located far from the coast.
Only two Rodalies train stations with limited service capacity serve the coastline. The metro has three stops close to the seafront, but the L4 line generally runs far from the coast (approx. 900 m). As for the La Marina neighbourhoods, there is only the L10 metro line.
The bus network is the public transport network that ultimately guarantees coverage along the seafront. Today, the Nova Xarxa de Bus (NXB) is already deployed throughout the city and the seafront is the terminus of most of the “vertical” lines. However, there is no “horizontal” bus line that runs along the entire coastline of the city, linking the seafront areas and connecting La Marina, El Fòrum and Les Tèrmiques.
The project consists of defining the route and service characteristics of a new bus line that runs along the waterfront and is integrated into the rest of the city’s public transport network.
