L’objectiu de les jornades és presentar el fenomen de les imitacions en època romana i analitzar el concepte de luxe, la rellevància del color i el significat dels recipients i els elements de guarniment personal fabricats en diferents matèries primeres, i també dels revestiments parietals en pedra, vidre i pintura; en definitiva, el paper que va tenir en l’àmbit social la cultura material en la normalització i l’accés a una estètica. Els participants són membres del projecte “Ficta Vitro Lapis: Las imitaciones de piedras en vidrio en la Hispania romana” (HAR2015-64142-P) (MINECO/FEDER, UE) procedents de la Universidad de Cantabria, el Museu d’Història de Barcelona, el Museo Nacional de Arte Romano de Mérida, la Universidad de Zaragoza i el Museo de Zaragoza i, també, altres especialistes d’Itàlia, Bèlgica, Regne Unit, Alemanya i Espanya.
