A researcher at the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED, Centre for Demographic Studies), he holds a degree in Sociology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), a postgraduate degree in Demography from CED, and a PhD from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED, National University for Distance Education).
He was awarded two Marie Sklodowka-Curie postdoctoral contracts in the Cathie Marsh Institute for Social Research at the University of Manchester and the University of Southampton, as well as a Ramón y Cajal contract in the Department of Geography at the UAB.
His expertise lies in demographic transitions across the life course, encompassing youth emancipation, partnership formation and fertility, as well as factors shaping these transitions, such as the nexus between educational qualifications and their correlation with labour dynamics and unpaid work, with a focus on gender equity.
