Environmentalist

He is a Professor of Economics and Business Studies and researcher at the Urban Transformation and Global Change Laboratory (TURBA Lab) at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). 

He holds a Degree and PhD in Environmental Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and was awarded an ICREA Academia 2023 fellowship [by ICREA, the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies]. He is an expert in sustainability and ecological transition, urban political ecology, water cycle management and urban studies. His research explores new paradigms of urban sustainability, adaptation to the climate emergency from a political ecology perspective and shifts in the governance and political economy of natural resources, with a particular focus on water. He has published more than 70 articles in leading international journals across geography, environmental studies, water management and urban studies.
