Dolors Comas d’Argemir is an Emeritus Professor of Social Anthropology at Rovira i Virgili University. Her long research career has focused on women, gender and social inequalities.
She has published the books Vides de dona: Treball, família i sociabilitat entre les dones de classes populars [Women’s Lives: Work, Family and Sociability Among Working-Class Women] (Altafulla, 1990) and Trabajo, género, cultura: La construcción de desigualdades entre hombres y mujeres [Work, Gender, Culture: The Construction of Inequalities Between Men and Women] (Icaria, 1995). Between 1995 and 2012, she was a councillor on Tarragona City Council, a member of the Catalan Parliament and a member of the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia. She has recently led research into the impact of Covid-19 on care for older and dependent people, in which ten Spanish universities have participated.
