Passatge Ratés, which bears witness to Poblenou’s industrial history, preserves the memory of a neighbourhood built by the working class. Today, partially transformed by 22@, the Passatge shows the metamorphosis of an area where the technological present coexists with the traces of a manufacturing past.

ESDAP-Llotja presents a striking installation in this setting: a burning car, cordoned off with police tape, keeping viewers at a distance. The flames illuminate the space while a screen positioned behind the vehicle projects data and figures documenting the neighbourhood’s transformation.

The installation offers an immersive experience, turning a public space into a visual narrative that connects the present and the past. The burning vehicle thus becomes a symbol of protest, highlighting the tensions between rapid transformation and the collective memory of a neighbourhood that, beneath its new surface, still retains the essence of a combative past.
