Neural Void is an immersive installation featuring a striking multi-sensory language. Inspired by the communication between neurons, it combines opposing projections, smoke as a holographic surface, and a surround-sound system to immerse viewers in a visually powerful space. The installation uses minimalist generative projections synchronised with a generative audio recording, creating an unpredictable narrative that changes in every rendition.

It seeks to imitate the way neurons communicate, offering a multi-sensory experience that invites us to reflect on the workings and formation of these connections. Each visitor is invited to explore this artificial ecosystem where control and chaos meet, offering interaction with striking visual and auditory features.

Neural Void is made up of Tamboo, Judit Castels and IDPA, former master’s degree students in the BAU’s Audiovisual Immersion and Interactive Environment programme. Together, they explore the intersections between digital art, music and interactiveness. This academic encounter was the start of a collaborative project that seeks to defy the traditional conventions of art, creating multi-sensory experiences that bring together generative projections and immersive sound.
