Disseny Hub Barcelona buiding façade - Pl. Santiago Pey
Generative visualisation models based on natural language prompts have redefined the word-image relationship. The program translates a descriptive text into a non-existent but convincingly photorealistic scene, i.e. transforming the photograph ‘inscribed’ by light into images ‘written’ by algorithms. This challenges our traditional perception of visual creation, turning it into a product of computation rather than imagination.
The Gènesi.IA project explores this idea through AI models such as Midjourney, Krea and Stable Diffusion. The installation projects virtual landscapes onto the Disseny Hub façade, generated from the verses of Genesis, representing from the emergence of light and darkness to the landscapes of the Garden of Eden. A robotic voice recites the verses in several languages, providing an immersive experience that speculates on AI as the new Deus ex machina.
