Architecture and nature have coexisted since the dawn of civilisation. Throughout history, architecture has used nature as a source of inspiration and an essential resource to create liveable and aesthetically pleasing spaces. Today, the relationship between architecture and nature has taken on a new dimension, with the preservation and integration of nature in projects playing a crucial role. The symbiosis between the two benefits people and the environment. It was this context that gave birth to the concept of LOOP, a ring that delicately embraces trees and provides peripheral lighting around them. Located in the Parc Central del Poblenou, this installation aims to raise awareness among visitors of the neglect of nature in today’s societies by showing how architecture can literally embrace it rather than destroy it, while at the same time enhancing its prominence through illumination derived from human ingenuity.
