ESDAPC - Llotja Campus

Each era and each society has its own specific dominant dysfunctions. In a narcissistic and hyperconnected society such as our own, disorders caused by the imposition of particular aesthetic models are rampant. The ESDAP Catalunya – Llotja Campus project focuses precisely on body dysmorphia (the conditioned perception of one's own physical image) to create a holographic system that projects and visualises, in real time, the unique and non-normative nature of our bodies. It is a reflection that gives diversity a voice while opening up an opportunity to interact with the large-format, three-dimensional representation of a body, and to modify it according to the whims and desires of each visitor.

It is a live experiment aimed at liberating oneself from the dictatorship of the idealised image and taking advantage of the most sophisticated technological tools in an act of rebellion against the imposition of filters that drive us towards uniformity. It is a gesture of liberation from the dissatisfaction and shame caused by the unique nature of our bodies.
