Slow Light is a light installation that invites the public to discover light through games and, at the same time, aims to raise awareness of the current energy crisis we face. The challenge of the IED project is to be sustainable in terms of consumption (it works without electricity) and to offer an attractive experience based on a philosophy of silent, discreet, ethical and honest life: in sum, slow. Visitors interact and take part in this concept using their mobile devices. With their flash they bring to life the urban-furniture elements distributed in various modules inside the courtyard to generate different types of lighting effects. And they can have fun and gain awareness that anyone can be part of an unrelenting change. It is also a simple gesture for showing how a technology we have integrated can transform our most everyday environment.
