The passing of time seems to go faster each day; Fred Penelle and Yannick Jacquet offer a pause, a suspension of time, a reprieve. Mécaniques discursives is like a stopover between two eras: that of Gutenberg and that of big data. By juxtaposing the oldest form of image reproduction, xylography, with the most recent digital technologies, the installation embraces several centuries and seems to shrink time. A strange device juts out from the wall, full of dark illusions that are mysterious and yet, somehow familiar.
