Discover young talent you’ve never heard of before, dance to your heart’s content and be thrilled by the diversity of musical proposals from abroad (including Casablanca) and from home… This is what Barcelona Acció Musical (BAM) is offering you at this year’s Mercè.

The celebrations will feature some novelties, as the classic BAM venues such as the Rambla del Raval and the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm, as well as the Plaça Reial, will be joined this year by a new stage that will be set up in the beautiful Plaça de Catalunya.

On this new stage you will be able to see bands such as Futuroa and their drag show, as well as Los Ganglios (20th), but also Chill Mafia and the finalists of the Brot young talent contest (21st).

On the Rambla del Raval you will find proposals from all over the world ranging from the Peruvians Ale Hop & Laura Robles to the electronic music of the Venetians Gotopo (20th) or rhythms from Casablanca, the host city, such as those played on the 21st by L’Beel, Shobee; Zilzal Presenta Astan Ka or Gbw9 (Rambla del Raval; 21st).

Proposals in the Plaça Reial on the 21st, where you can feel from the dream-pop of Rozi Plain to the pop-rock of Repion or the punk of the Valencians Finale are some of the other proposals of BAM.

Other guests at BAM? Come and listen to the Moroccan electronic music of Cheb Runner (21st; Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm); the electronic pop of PUTOCHINOMARICÓN (23rd; plaça de Catalunya), the rap of Las Ninyas del Corro (plaça de Catalunya; 23rd) or Lucia Fumero (Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm; 21st).

This year, BAM also includes the Cultura Viva concerts, programmed in a participatory way and offering a glimpse of the latest local scene. Everything takes place in the Plaça de Can Fabra and at the Fabra i Coats venue, where on Thursday, 20th, we’ll be treated to pop-rock by Bravo and pop-rap and electronica by Las Bajas Pasiones, among others. On the 21st, you’ll find artists ranging from the Barcelona hip-hop and jazz project Cecé & The Soul Kitchen; to the rock of Dan Peralbo and the Comboi; the ambient-techno of the Mexicans and Barcelona’s Øbsidiaän; the fragmented rock of Carpa Negra and the hip-hop of Sordida, among others.

If you don’t want to miss the concerts of the most interesting emerging musicians on the current scene, come to the BAM concerts, but first check the website for all the relevant information.
