Barcelona chooses a contemporary artist every year and commissions them to produce the poster for the city’s annual festival. Artists such as Albert Ràfols-Casamada (1981), Antoni Clavé (1996), Antoni Tàpies (2002) and Francesc Artigau (2011) are among the artists who have authored posters for La Mercè on previous occasions. Dedicated to contemporary painting, the Museu Can Framis holds works by many of these creators. During the family tours there will be an analysis of the works in the museum collection relating to the posters for the city’s annual festival.

After finding out how these posters were created and analysing the material, children taking part will be able to design their own posters for La Mercè taking their inspiration from the art techniques discovered in the museum rooms.

For families with children aged five and over.
