Bateu Matou is a trio made up of Ivo Costa, Quim Albergaria and Riot who combine drums and computers to offer a percussion show that mixes contemporary influences and traditional roots.

In 2021, they launched their début album Chegou, which led to performances on the most important stages in Portugal and several international festivals. 

In early 2024, the group invited the Portuguese legend Rão Kyao to reinvent Bombaião, a song that reached number 1 in the 1980s and is on Batedeira, their second album launched last March. It is a living, vibrant expression of the joy, identity and diversity of peoples, rhythms and histories in Lisbon which we can enjoy as part of Portugal Alive on the Rambla del Raval this September.
