The Torre Glòries gets lit up for La Vuelta 23
The Mirador Torre Glòries and Barcelona City Council will be lighting up the Torre Glòries with a special projection on the nights of 24, 25 and 26 August, marking the official start of La Vuelta 23 in Barcelona on 26 August and the second stage from Mataró to Barcelona on 27 August. More than sixty years on, this will be the second time in history that Barcelona has hosted an official start to La Vuelta. The previous occasion was in 1962.
The iconic skyscraper is set to become a beacon of light and colour from 9 pm to midnight, reflecting the sporting and festive spirit this major cycling event brings to the city. One of the most distinguishable points on the Barcelona skyline, the Torre Glòries will become a symbol of the city’s hospitality and support for this great cycling competition.
Residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the light display, which not only highlights the building’s unique aesthetics, but also celebrates the community spirit and passion for sport which characterises Barcelona.
