Cirque Alfonse

The members of this Quebec company are waiting for you with the doors open. Enter their church because, inside this peculiar temple, they have prepared an authentic festival of circus and music.

Authors of so applauded shows around the world as the energetic Timber and the very wild and carnivalesque Barbu, the creators of Cirque Alfonse come from the small Quebec area of Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez. Hence the name of a group dedicated to the circus that, in its shows, always makes direct references to the life and popular culture of the French speaking part of Canada. This time, they are inspired by the place where they were born and, specifically, in the small church that functioned as a meeting point for their community. And, yes, this show is made of spectacular circus shows and, also, large doses of humor and elements of a musical. Everything to celebrate heaven but also hell and everything that is between them. Tabarnak may take place in a temple, but its title is a word of French-Canadian slang that may be an insult such as expressing pain, anger or, simply, surprise.

A fresh and full of vitality circus with roots sunk in the traditions and the past of Quebec and served by a company that, on this occasion, stages a sort of anarchic musical Via Crucis in which the organ of the church becomes an instrument at the service of the show.

A production by Cirque Alfonse.

All audiences show.
