One of the city's finest centres for contemporary circus creation displays its work at the festival and invites five resident artists to hybridise their numbers with the fine arts.
Contemporary circus, painting and music are the central elements in a multidisciplinary production in which five Catalan and French artists – all residents or users of this “Circus Central” – perform a series of excerpts from author circus shows. They will be accompanied by an artistic collaborator, a visual artist and a musician, who will occupy a 12x12 metre space. This space will be covered by paper, which the artists will colour, using nearly 100 litres of paint. The show will be a truly striking visual artistic experience, one that is also deliberately humanistic, an expressive, colourful performance in which the circus will use the language of the arts to provide us with a glimpse of its capacity for projection and innovation.
