Cia. Pepa Plana

Humour is a woman’s thing, at least in the ring that one of Spain’s most popular clowns has set up.

A few years ago, at Grec 2019, the clown Pepa Plana presented Veus que no veus, a show where she paid tribute to women who, like her, are dedicated to the art of clowning. With the complicity of fellow clown Nöel Olivé, some of the most classic numbers were looked at again with a woman's eyes, bringing a new reading to some of the best moments of the clown tradition. But Pepa Plana and Nöel Olivé still had a lot to say and many numbers to reinterpret, which is why they are now back with an expanded team of collaborators. And if Pepa Plana herself assumes the status of august clown and Nöel Olivé that of white clown, now we will also have Lola González on stage as a counter-August clown. Thus, they form the complete trio of traditional clowns who, yes, will once again revive the best-known numbers of the clown repertoire, but this time as part of a story that gives them unity.

He conceived the show Pepa Plana, a clown whose prestige extends to the international scene. He has created more than a dozen shows, worked with Cirque du Soleil and with the giants of the clown scene, and in 2014 he won the National Culture Award from the Generalitat. Since 2018, he has returned to direct the International Clown Festival of Andorra.
