Throughout its long history, the Municipal Band, wich is about to celebrate its 125th anniversary firmly established as the city’s longest standing musical ensemble, has performed a classical repertoire of pieces from all over the world. At Grec’09, the band will present a programme of Zarzuela, featuring the singers Marta Mathéu and Salvador Carbó. Conducted by Salvador Brotons, the band will play pieces from this outstanding lyrical genre, including compositions by such masters as Ruperto Chapí, Rafael Martínez Valls, Amadeu Vives, Pablo Sorozábal, Tomás Bretón, Moreno Torroba and Soutullo and Vert.
