A system of signs enables the musicians in this avant-garde ensemble to perform a one-off piece in what is a conducted improvisation. Meanwhile, the dancers Sol Picó and Vero Cendoya translate the experience into movement.
Moviment d'Insurrecció Sonora (“Sound Insurrection Movement”) is formed by eight musicians and a director who come from a varied range of fields, from classical music to rock, jazz and contemporary music. The ensemble produces avant-garde sounds influenced by the likes of John Zorn, John Cage, Walter Thomson and Frank Zappa in which the musicians perform an improvisation that is conducted by a system of signs and indications aimed at encouraging freedom, playfulness and the most authentic expression. But these musicians are not the only protagonists of this experience; on this occasion, they are joined by two dancers, Sol Picó and Vero Cendoya, who will seek to establish a dialogue between music and movement. As a result, music and dance will generate a rigorous shared improvisational experience.
