The versatility of Mayte Martín's voice on occasions immerses her in soundscapes that have nothing to do with the registers to which we are more accustomed, allowing us to see and hear her recreating a collection of true hits that form and will forever form part of the legacy of universal music. The artist's voice is the protagonist of an emotional journey of reunion with timeless songs liberated here and, in homage to those who created them, are filled with life, nuances and colour.
These are songs such as Te recuerdo Amanda, Lucía, El breve espacio en que no está or Alfonsina y el mar, among many others, performed by an artist from Barcelona born in 1965. She is one of those creators who doesn't need to release an album every two years to survive or remain current or keep her place in the public's memory. A prestigious singer on the current flamenco scene, she has received critical acclaim, fan approval, and an array of awards ranging from the "Lámpara Minera" of the National Contest of Cante de las Minas in 1987 to the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, as well as the Ciutat de Barcelona in 1997.
A new date, then, with an artist that we saw in Montjuïc during the Grec 2003 (with the dancer Belén Maya), but who made her Grec Festival debut in 1994. Her most recent appearance was in 2020 when she returned to the Teatre Grec with the show Déjà vu.
