Songbook

With a commitment to song and integrating genres, the composer makes vocals the central element of a new proposal that has emerged from the Barcelona Crea grants.

This pianist and composer from Barcelona has not yet recorded Songbook, his third work and the latest since recording his album. While in the album he opted for instrumental music, this time the composer and lyricist does the opposite, placing the human voice at the centre of the new project he is presenting, winner of one of Barcelona City Council’s Institut de Cultura Barcelona Crea grants. Magalí Datzira (also a double bass player) and drummer Asier Olabarrieta combine their voices and instruments in this proposal that integrates genres, has elegant staging and, without losing sight of jazz, puts lyrics to the interpretations.

Plaça Real's Cava de Jazz once again this year joins Barcelona's Grec Festival, with a selection of great artists who, like Lucas Delgado and his musicians, offer us a series of high-quality artistic projects, contemporary creations all with particularly outstanding vocals and accessible to all audiences. Some performances take place in the Jamboree's new Sala 3, a third space in this venue used for live music, dance, small-format theatre, cabaret, exhibitions, conferences and events of all kinds.
