Root music, from Asia and also from the Mediterranean, performed today in one of the most outstanding centers of live music in the heart of Barcelona.
In 1993 a group of students from the conservatory of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, created a group dedicated to interpreting traditional sounds of their country from a current perspective, as well as compositions by contemporary Mongolian authors. Now, they arrive in Barcelona to show the West a type of music that tells us about the nature and living conditions of the Mongolian people, centered on livestock farming, and a belief system based on animism and respect for the natural world. They interpret the traditional and contemporary Mongolian sounds with traditional instruments and also with the voice, using the traditional techniques of Central Asia.
A production by Zingaria Produccions.
