A follower of the prophet Cheikh Ibra Fall, who strove to unite Muslim and African culture in the late-19th century, Cheikh Lô is one of the most spiritual musicians of our times. Born in Burkina Faso of Senagalese parents, the eclectic atmosphere that Lô grew up in is reflected in his music, inspired and sensual, rich and dynamic, somewhere between acoustic and electric, with echoes of Zairean rumba.
