Maya G. Vinuesa

Maya G. Vinuesa, born in Cádiz in 1968, is an author, translator and professor of literary translation at the University of Alcalá. A specialist in Anglophone African literature and Afro-British literature, she is the co-director of Africanías magazine. She’s the author of the novel Una habitación en Lavapiés [A Room in Lavapiés] and several stories published in magazines and anthologies. In 2024, she’s published the short story collection Genes a la carta [Genes A La Carte] (Eolas), offering possible answers to the moral challenges posed by genetic editing, including topics such as embryo trafficking and selection and new eugenics practices.
