'CUATROCIENTAS' [FOUR HUNDRED]: A SCIENCE FICTION COMEDY
After premiering at the Barcelona Mutis Festival, where it received the panel’s honourable mention, and emerging even stronger from its summer showing at the Celsius Festival in Avilés, Cuatrocientas is coming to the 42 Festival having demonstrated that a science fiction comedy can be the perfect way to close out the Festival’s opening day. Parodying clichés of superheroes and arch-enemies, the play presents Alana and Fede, who just happen to meet on a train platform... Well, maybe it’s not such a coincidence, since they discover that they have certain powers and in fact have been using them for some time. Using the “novum” of a time loop, and with a minimalist concept that brings out both humour and reflection on themes such as love, self-esteem and free will, Cuatrocientas is a turning point in the career of Inés Galiano, already known to 42 Festival attendees with her Proyecto Kétchup [Project Ketchup] and Crónica de dos noches sin verano [Chronicle of Two Summerless Nights]. On this occasion, she will be running the play with the support of assistant director Mireia Pérez.
